Installing bluebox  on xenserver is quite the challange so ill let you know the way i did it to save others the wasted hours trying to get this too work

 

I do expect you have knowledge of xenserver

 

  1. Download bluebox for me it was 64bit  http://files.2600hz.org/bluebox-latest.iso
  2. Cop ISO To Repository
  3. Create new VM
  4. Select Other Install Media
  5. Fill out all info...   i made my hhd 15gb
  6. click next all the way through...  its an unattended install from here
  7. After install i did have to change the maximal execution time in PHP from 30 secs..  (i changed to 300 but smaller may be ok)

Quick fix

in unused modules look for System Logs

click on Module Index at the top left

 

change

/etc/syslog.conf

To:

/etc/rsyslog.conf

Save & Done

 

Bellow is a fast method of installing Debian on Xenserver

It assumes you understand how to install regular linux os's,

 

In xencenter open right click on your server and click add VM

Select Debian Lenny

Name your virtual machine

select install from url and add this line http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/

 

Configure the rest as normal

Installing Xenserver tools on centos 6 will probably give you" Fatal Error: Failed to determine Linux distribution and version. "

Quick fix

nano /etc/centos-release

 

change:

CentOS Linux release 6.0 (Final)

To:

CentOS release 6.0 (Final)

 

Seems this has happened to me more than once,    especially after forcing a new master and resetting the powerstate from the VM's

So i'm deciding to log a simple way to fix this.

 

  1. find the uuid for the VDI
    1. xe vdi-list sr-uuid=(storage uuid which houses the vdi)
  2. copy all VDI uuid's which will not start
    1. xe vdi-forget uuid=(vdi uuid)
  3. In XenCenter click on the SR and scan SR
  4. VDI should show without a name,   compare disk size name it, and attach too your vm
