It looks like HTC is getting ready to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with a phablet of its own. The One Max, which reportedly packs a 5.9-inch 1080p display with a fast 2.3-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, is expected to launch Oct. 17th.
A bigger HTC One has been rumored for several months, with Taiwanese website ePrice previously releasing the phone’s supposed specs and HTC itself promising “Big Things Ahead” in a YouTube ad last month. This latest report comes from Android Community,

According to previous reports, a dual-SIM version of the One Max with a removable back panel is being tested, and the handset is expected to launch with a fingerprint sensor. Having the sensor on the back instead of the front, though, might be awkward to use. The iPhone 5s integrates its sensor right into the Home button.
If the rumored One Max becomes a reality, it will likely give the recently-revealed Samsung Galaxy Note 3 some serious competition. That phablet has a smaller 5.7-inch display but also offers enhanced pen support and new multitasking features.
